To volunteer is to force yourself.

voluntary (volun-tari)

ADJECTIVE:

Done or undertaken of one's own free will: a voluntary decision to leave the job.

Nowadays, they teach us exactly the opposite.

It is normal for schools to have PTA/PTCA bodies that present cooperation between the school and parents. It is normal for the said organization to collect funds, for the benefit of the school and the students. According to the Department of Education, all PTA contributions should be on voluntary basis. Non-payment of contribution by the parent- member should not be a basis for non- admission o non-issuance of clearance(s) of his/ her child/ children by the school concerned.

If you notice our clearance, the PTA fund is one of our requirement. On March 28, 2008, students of our school waited for their one- month allowance. They waited for almost three hours, even if they have not eaten lunch, and all. Some students were even disappointed because as they enter the room, their allowances are held and some are got by people because of that PTA fund. A very disappointing day. I was not one of them, because I told them that I would not pay the fund with my allowance. What they are doing is wrong, indeed.
Why are they not pitied by people who strive hard to study in the one-of-a-kind school like mine?
Why don't they think of poor families who cannot afford 250 pesos?
We are called scholars and this is what we get for studying hard?
Why don't they think of students who cannot afford to pay?
They study hard yet they can't go to the next level?
People like us don't deserve this. We are WILD, I know we are.
But try to look at yourselves and what you are doing. Aren't you ashamed of it?
